Development of a 17 WM Offshore Wind Turbine with Fixed Foundation

OTL worked on a development of 17WM offshore wind turbine with fixed foundation for a confidential client. OTL’s scope of work was designing the critical connection structure between the wind turbine and the jacket foundation, including configuration, structural strength, and fatigue analysis, covering both wind and wave loadings and their interaction. The analysis and design employed detailed FE method for stress and buckling, and time domain rain-flow counting method for fatigue damage calculation.
