OTL has also been contracted by the same prominent international EPCI contractor to perform bid engineering for a Middle East field comprise of a few heavy offshore platforms requiring floatover installation. OTL will perform the re-design and also find optimized solution for the multiple jackets.
Bidding Engineering of Middle East Platform Started
OTL has been awarded a project by a prominent international EPCI contractor to perform a bid engineering of a heavy offshore platform requiring floatover installation with complicated foundation issues. The work includes the optimization of the topside structure and the jacket in order to suit the changed design parameters and the floatover vessel.
Field Trip Day
OTL’s subsidiary office in China, OTC, has organized a field trip to HuangPu Shipyard near GuangZhou of China. OTL’s JV ZOMC is executing the T&I project for Shell Australia and Seatrium of Singapore, involving modification and outfitting a large semi-submersible vessel from COOEC. HuangPu Shipyard is contracted by ZOMC to perform the outfitting work.
Completion of a Large Fish Farm Installation
Installation of a large fish farm in the configuration of a jacket with fish net surrounding the extremity of the jacket, has been successfully executed by HuaDian Heavy Industry. OTL has been contracted by HuaDian to perform the complicated installation procedures and associate analyses, involving submersible and multi-body engineering issues.
Engineering Software Development
OTL has been awarded a contract to develop a couple engineering software tools to perform fatigue analysis for fixed offshore wind structures connecting the capabilities between Bladed and SACS, and for transitioning structure between wind turbine and the supporting platform based on ANSYS finite element method.
Floating Wind TLP Preliminary Design Completed
In 8 weeks, OTL has performed sufficient engineering and finished the preliminary design of the floating wind TLP located in 60 m water depth in South Chia Sea with a 15 MW wind turbine. The design, backed up by time-domain coupled wind turbine and floater analysis methodology and with all critical conditions in the consideration, has proven the feasibility of the TLP concept by OTL, and its superior economic performance over other floating concepts.
Detailed Design Verification of a Floatover Installation Completed
OTL’s China subsidiary, OffshoreTech China (OTC), has started the detailed floatover design verification of the HZ 25-8 platform for CNOOC Shenzhen. The work has now been successfully completed with the work completion review has been conducted.
Floating Wind Preliminary Design Started
OTL started a preliminary design for a floating wind with 15 MW wind turbine in 60 m water depth based on TLP concept. The floating wind TLP will be operating in South China Sea harsh environment. Coupled with the sizable wind turbine and relative shallow water, OTL foresees challenges in the coming design process but is confident on providing a feasible and economical solution to the client.
