PO Issued to Provide Pre-bid Engineering on Large Offshore Projects in Middle East Area

An major international EPCI contractor again has issued a PO to OTL, contracting OTL to provide pre-bid engineering to assist their EPCI bid on the large offshore projects in Middle East area. The scope including verification of existing FEED design, optimization to have steel and fabrication and T&I saving, as well as enable a smaller offshore crane to do the jacket offshore installations.

OTL Participated in the Underwater Mining Conference

Jim Li, President of OffshoreTech and Dr. Alex Ran, CTO of OffshoreTech, participated in the Underwater Mining Conference held in St. Petersburg of Florida, United States. Dr. Alex Ran has presented a paper “A Riser and Lifting System (RALS) Concept for Deep Sea Polymetallic Nodule Mining” on behalf of JinAo Deepsea Technology. The paper contains part of scopes OTL has completed for a complete deepsea mining system conceptual design covering PSV, RALS and subsea robotic miner.

Major Offshore Floatover Installation Project Acquired

A LOI was signed between a major offshore general contractor and ZOMC (ZPMC-OTL Marine Contractor) for an heavy topside offshore floatover installation. Client of the platform is a major oil company. ZOMC will be contracted to perform the physical transportation and offshore installation of the oil and gas heavy topside offshore Australia. As the engineering arm of ZOMC, OTL is responsible for all engineering and design works relate to this contract by ZOMC.

Round 2 Bidding for a Major US Offshore Wind Farm Started

Joined an international consortium and under a major US fabricator, OTL has participated official bidding of a major US offshore wind farm. The consortium has passed the first round of the bidding and enter into the second round, with FEED level of engineering to be completed and firm price to be quoted. The wind farm Employer conducted an official kick-off of the R2 bidding process and answered questions from parties of the consortium. OTL is proud to be part of the consortium and best wishes the effort will be paid off.

NDA Signed to Support US Offshore Wind

OTL has signed a NDA with an US offshore wind bidder to provide engineering support to their bidding and the future engineering scopes. OTL has subsequently provided price quote on the WTG jacket design for a major US offshore wind farm under planning.

Offshore Floating Wind Concept Development

OTL is continuing its offshore floating wind conceptual development. OTL has performed literature review and patent review to identify potential floating wind concepts existing in the market, as well as their pros and cons. Based on OTL’s rich floating system experience, OTL has identified a concept having advantages of simplified configuration, optimized motion performance, modular structural fabrication, quayside WTG installation, T&I without heavy equipment. Global performance of the concept has been verified by a coupled WTG-floater model under critical load conditions.

Participating US Offshore Wind Project

Teamed up with a renown US fabricator and multiple international companies, OTL bided on a very large offshore wind project located in Northeast US coastal territory. The wind farm will have a total 804 MW capacity, consists of 50-62 WTGs and 2 ESPs. The content of the bid OTL participated is for the EPCI of the ESPs. OTL will be responsible for the engineering of the ESP jackets and support to the fabrication and T&I within the bidding consortium. As a US engineering company with rich offshore structural design experience, OTL is striding into the US offshore wind market.

Decommissioning Pre-FEED Completed for a Very Large Floater

OTL has completed the Pre-FEED engineering for the decommissioning of a vary large floater in the Gulf of Mexico for a major oil company. OTL has performed engineering relate to naval architecture, mooring, hull towing, hull set down, hull tipping, etc., with the feasibility of the decommissioning verified and procedures recommended.

Re-usable Offshore Platform Conceptual Design Started

Awarded by an Indonesian client, OTL started working on a conceptual platform design with innovative offshore technologies. The platform will first be used in a shallow water location with gravity foundation, and the platform will then be used in a medium water depth with tension legs. The platform will be designed as self-installable. Innovative concepts and designs will be applied for the platform configuration, structural arrangement, structural design, as well as tendon concept and design.

Verification Engineering for CNOOC’s Lufeng 15-1 Extra Deep Water Jacket

To be installed at 286 m water depth by CNOOC, Lufeng 15-1 will be Asia’s deepest jacket in a few months. OTL has deep involvement into Lufeng 15-1 deepwater jacket design in all design phases. This time OTL has been contracted by CNOOC Shenzhen and CCS to perform verification of key engineering design and issues relate to the pre-services conditions before sailing out. OTL has completed all these verification with positive results, and wish the project a big success.

Modular LNG Tank Design

OTL has been subcontracted to an engineering company to perform a modular LNG tank design particularly for the transportation conditions. Almost all the existing LNG tanks were constructed at the sites. Concept of LNG tank will allow the fabrication of the LNG tanks at a suitable yard and the tanks will then be transported and installed at site of use. To make this possible, LNG tanks will have to be designed for transoceanic tow, imposing many new challenge to the structural design of the tanks. OTL will help to resolve these technical challenges.
