Alliance with Reservoir Link of Malasia

OTL President Mr. Jim Li visited Reservoir Link of Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur to discuss  cooperation opportunities between the two companies. Reservoir Link Energy Bhd is a Malaysian public group company with part of its focus on traditional oil and gas industry as well as renewable energy industry. A few areas have been identified for potential collaboration and both parties agree to form an alliance to pursuit.

Floating Wind Concept Patents Granted

OTL has been granted three of the five patents submitted for the OTL in-house developed floating wind TLP concept. This marks innovation of OTL’s TLP floating wind substructure concept has been recognized and the concept is now protected to a certain degree.

Pipeline Pressurization Platform Design

OTL has been awarded a contract to assist the design of a pipeline pressurization platform in Bohai Bay of China. The client is developing a very large scape crude importing terminal involving two large size CALM buoys, a very long distance pipeline, an onshore receiving complex and the said pipeline pressurization platform. The platform has been previously designed and OTL is invited to review, revise and optimize the design as necessary.

Office Move

OTL has now moved to 1400 Broadfield Blvd., Suite 625, Houston, TX 77084. This is a suite two levels on top of OTL’s previous office suite in the same office building with larger area.

Continuing Shell Crux Transportation and Installation Project

OTL is continuing its efforts for the transportation and installation engineering for Crux project for ZOMC, ZPMC-OTL Marine Contractor.  This is a full size marine contracting project for Shell as ultimate client and Sembcorp Marine as the general contractor. OTL is responsible for all engineering scope of works as well as supporting the fabrication and offshore installation.

Kick-off of Two Deep Water Jacket Verifications

Subsequent to OTL’s award of deep water verification contract by CNOOC RI, OTL is now officially start the work with a kick-off meeting with CNOOC project team. The work involves complete structural and naval architectural verification of WenChang 9-7 and WenChang 16-2 jackets. The work is expected to be completed in about six months.

Contract for Floating Wind Technology Development

OTL has signed a contract with an major wind farm developer to develop critical technology on analysis of coupled wind turbine and floating substructure. The work is focus on identifying, evaluating and resolving analytical issues relate to floating wind turbine-supporting structures, based on OTL’s existing advanced capabilities on floating offshore structural analysis and experience. When finished, this work will enable OTL to gain ability and tool for complex floating wind analysis and design.
