Development of Dry Tree Semi-Submersible in South China Sea

OTL is pleased to announce that our team recently stood out among many competitors to be selected for the development of an advanced dry tree semi-submersible production platform. Together with Sany Heavy Industry, OTL will be developing this platform for a confidential client.  The design is based on a deepwater field in South China Sea, but it will be suitable for worldwide application.

Its advantages include:

  • topside weight of up to 20,000 tons
  • superb heave motion
  • suitable for very deep water with polyester mooring technology
  • capable of supporting as many as 15 TTRs and multiple SCRs
  • quayside topside integration and wet tow of the entire platform
  • self-lowering at final site
  • low cost and ease of installation

This design aims to cover some of the technical gaps in the offshore industry as well as accelerate the development of deepwater oil and gas fields in South China Sea. Currently, there are no operating dry tree production semi-submersibles in the world.

OTL is proud and excited to be working on such an advanced and challenging project.
